        This is what you see shared on social media and people eat it up. The tuner claims this is a factory turbo B58 Supra on a 91 octane tune with some ethanol. Well, you are not getting 642+ lb-ft of torque at the wheels out of the factory turbocharger.


        Not unless you're screwing with something. Yet, that is the tuner claim:

        First of all, the curve is horrible:


        Secondly, how in the hell is that torque figure hit? Hybrid upgrades are not making that amount of torque boost only. Hell, a Pure Turbos hybrid upgraded example with nitrous on top only managed 548 lb-ft of torque at the wheels.

        This guy is claiming almost another 100 lb-ft of torque at the wheels on top of a hybrid turbo upgraded B58 with a shot of nitrous?

          LOL instagram tuning at its finest, and yet these guys still get customers. Probably due to the monkey see monkey do phenomenon (cough cough facebook groups) with no critical thinking or research in between.

          The thing is the guy has curves with nitrous and plenty of factory turbo runs posted and then posts this like its normal?

          Tuning strategy = pull the waste gate line, trick the ECU into seeing reasonable boost (voltage clamp?), dump methanol with a fire hose, and see what happens! Who cares?! It's a customer car and great PR!

          Maybe he played with the gearing too?

          Why would any 'tuner' even post this to brag about? It's idiotic.

          Plus the fuel system can't possibly support that with ethanol.

          They best part is he say this is 'daily' mapping.

          If this is daily mapping wtf does his race mapping look like?

          Whatever they did, I'll stick to a point I've made before. Draggy makes it too easy to not back up any new Dyno records that i treat any unsubstantiated claims as just that. As our grandpas used to say at the strip "put up or shut up".

          Loooool!
          Then make claims that he's the best tuner around and have a hype train develope and hopefully tune more cars before the original one blows. By then the next phase is amass a bunch of mindless zombie followers to bash any haters and hopefully silence any blown motor complaints that may have come back in his direction.

          This reminds me of alot of tuners on the BMW platform and the frs community. It's easier to do this with cars that have strong motors and good protection from the ECU because they are harder to kill and thus tunes don't have to be perfect hence why a crap ton of ots maps exist. That's why I recommend ecutek certified tuners, and cobb protuners (the more certifications the better) because chances are they have had to deal with cars with crap ECU safties or cars with brittle pistons and can blow by looking at it wrong, like the sti and had to really know how to tune the cars as repercussions were easily spotted.

          It'll look like a jagged line flying all over the place before his motor blows up. But in that short period of time and a whole bottle of nos 1k horsepower world record lol.

          Not sure whats going on here but STI Mikey (Mikey Botti) helped start Phatbotti tuning (in CA which was Ron Watson and Mikey Botti) is not an "instagram tooner" he and Ron are VERY well known and respected in the Subaru world for a loooooong time.

          Mikey is one of the "in house tuners" for The Shop CT which is also legit and really big with the new Supra now.

          Not saying anything about this "record" or whatever but Mikey is a friend of a friend and he is for sure not an unknown rando on instagram.
